Saudi suitors insists on De Gea's signature despite verbal agreement with Man United over new deal

Manchester United's clean sheet record holder, David De Gea, is reportedly attracting strong interest from Saudi Arabian suitors, despite news from within the Carrington training center suggesting he is closer to penning a new deal with the 20-time Premier League champions.

David De Gea is among the top transfer targets for Saudi Arabian suitors, who have signed Kareem Benzema and Ngolo Kante to Saudi Pro-League side Al-Ittihad in respective mega-money moves.

With Cristiano Ronaldo already playing for Al-Nassr, the Suadi Arabians are still aiming to sign high-profile players like Robert Lewandowski, Toni Kroos, Luka Modric, Neymar, Sergio Ramos, and Ryan Mahrez, to mention a few. They have allegedly made contact with these players agents.

A number of these players are reportedly turning down the Saudi Arabian suitors despite the mammoth financial offers on the table. Lionel Messi is one, as he opted to join MLS Inter Miami after confirming his exit from Paris Saint-Germain.

As indicated by Fabrizio Romano, Saudi Arabian suitors are closely monitoring David De Gea's situation at Old Trafford. The 32-year-old shotstopper has yet to extend his contract at the club, with his current one expiring at the end of June.

The Spaniard could bring an end to his 12-year Old Trafford career as the current condition for signing a new deal with the English giants involves a 50% pay cut from his current £375,000 per week wage. A condition he is reportedly willing to accept to remain at Old Trafford.

Despite a verbal agreement in place, clubs from the Middle East are hell-bent on tempting the 32-year-old away from Manchester United.

Man Utd remain on the market for a new goalkeeper in any case," Fabrizio Romano wrote on Twitter.

Regardless of whether David De Gea stays or leaves, Erik Ten Hag has made it clear he will not be his first choice goalkeeper next season, and the Red Devils are seriously working towards bringing in an alternative and a potential replacement.

Manchester United like the blues are looking to bring in an upgrade for their number one goalkeeper David De Gea. The 32 year old is clearly not a going to be Erik Ten Hag's favorite next campaign after showing he is lacking in some aspects that is much needed for the modern football style the Dutch tactician is trying to instill in the team.

Several Candidates are being monitored for his replacement, Brentford's David Raya, Anderlecht's youngster Bart Verbruggen, Everton's Jordan Pickford and FC Porto's Diogo Costa, with Inter Milan's Onana as well in the picture.

While David Raya seems to be destined for another club, ( rumors suggests it could be Tottenham Hotspur), Manchester United could seal Diogo Costa's transfer for a lesser transfer fee.

This is down to FC Porto's sudden need of financial reinforcement which will force them to sanction the sale of players before the end of June.
