Pervis Estupinan, for Brighton & Hove Albion's defender , acknowledges that his teammates 'fear' Moises Caicedo will depart this summer due to rumors of Manchester United's interest.
Alexis Mac Allister and Caicedo are rumored to have been on United's list of summer midfield options; the latter has since joined Liverpool for about £35 million; Erik ten Hag is reportedly anxious to add quality and depth in that part of the field.
Caicedo, a player from Ecuador, would be added to the team to compete against Casemiro and cover for him. Casemiro, although having a stellar first season at Old Trafford, missed several games due to suspension and turned 31 earlier this year.
Caicedo's future appears to be moving away from the south coast after a fantastic season there. Additionally, his Seagulls teammate Estupinan has hinted that he would be leaving soon.
"Having a player of Moi’s characteristics, we all fear that he will leave," Estupinan said (via the Argus). "If he stays, I will be very happy to keep playing alongside him and enjoying his football.
"If he goes, I will wish him all the best because he is a good lad, a good professional and he is a machine. If he leaves, we will be opponents and all I’ll ask is he doesn’t give me a whack because he is very strong!"
Brighton has never hidden its propensity to sell at the right price and has frequently seen its star players leave. Manager Roberto De Zerbi appeared to imply in May that both Mac Allister and Caicedo would probably go in the summer.
"After his team defeated Arsenal 3-0, De Zerbi said to Sky Sports, "Of course we will lose some players - maybe Caicedo, maybe Mac Allister." "We need to be prepared to add more quality players, and as for [Kaoru] Mitoma and [Pervis] Estupinan], I believe that staying with us is the best option for them."
What has been said about Moises Caicedo's pursuit.
The Ecuadorian midfielder is caught up in a three-man race as Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester United are seriously hunting for his signature.
Arsenal are definitely seeking his signature, as he will improve their squad as they bid to challenge for the Premier League again next season. While Chelsea needs him to boost their team, Manchester United needs him as a serious upgrade and replacement.
Although Manchester United are focused on other transfer priorities and haven't advanced any official approach for the midfielder, he is linked with a move away from Ammex Stadium.
The Red Devils are engrossed in completing Mason Mount's transfer from Chelsea.
Despite personal terms in place with the England international, the 20-time Premier League champion has not been able to reach an agreement with the club on the transfer price tag.
The Stamford Bridge outfit wants £70 million for their academy graduate, a price tag Manchester United are not ready to pay.
Manutdnews.com indicated that SkySports opined that Erik Ten Hag's side should rather snap up Moises Caicedo if they are unable to agree to a deal with Chelsea.
Mason Mount is a traditional number 10, a role occupied by Bruno Fernandes, but he might not be comfortable playing the number 8 role in the middle of the park. Undoubtedly a good player on his day, Mason Mount has scored 70 goals for Chelsea in 195 appearances, sometimes playing as a number 8.
However, Moises Caicedo has already cemented his status as one of the best midfielders in his position in the Premier League.
Making his Premier League debut in April last year, Moises Caicedo featured for Brighton Hove Albion as a central and defensive midfielder. while achieving 90% passing accuracy at just the age of 21.
He showed he could handle anything, even when playing against the big boys in the Premier League; his contributions for Brighton during their victories over Manchester United and Arsenal speak volumes.
