Sheikh Jassim gets major takeover boost after latest Glazers family agreement

The takeover of Manchester United has already been ongoing for seven months, and speculation has suggested why it is taking so long to sell the team.

According to a report, the Glazers take their time making key decisions, but they all agree that the correct price should be set for a sale.

The Glazers' reluctance to sell appears to be less of a factor than the money given by leading bidders Sheikh Jassim and Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

The previous several months have seen Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani and Sir Jim Ratcliffe jockey for position while United's present ownership considers their offers. According to reports on Monday, Sheikh Jassim was currently the highest-bidder.

According to The Guardian, the Qatari banker had'slipped ahead' of his INEOS competitor in the campaign to buy the club, both publicly and privately.

With the Glazer family now on the same page, Sheikh Jassim's potential takeover of United has reportedly gotten a "huge boost," according to the Mirror.

The brothers Joel and Avram are believed to both be interested in keeping a minority share, something Sir Jim Ratcliffe has suggested in his bid, and there has long been controversy over a full sale.

The family is now reportedly in agreement over a full sale, which Sheikh Jassim has committed to carry out should he be given exclusivity.
