Man United to gain more from Gift Orban's transfer despite multiple Ligue 1 interests

Manchester United have serious competitors in the French Ligue 1 in their chase of Nigerian sensational and Gent striker Gift Orban.

Manchester United's priority ahead of the incoming summer transfer window is the acquisition of top strikers, although they have always failed to land major transfer targets due to their tardy approach.

A typical instance was Erling Halaand's transfer from RB Salzburg to Borussia Dortmund. The Red Devils had better chances of bringing the goal poacher to the Premier League at a cheaper cost, but years later, the Norway international has become a record-breaker with domestic rivals Manchester City.

Gift Orban's pursuit is also turning out like other transfer targets'. His memorable goal-scoring season for the Belgian outfit Gent has seen his transfer fee blow up the roof.

However, he will not be the instance. Rasmus Hojlund arrived at Atalanta for just £15 million back in August, but the Seria A side have slapped an excess price tag of £40 million on him amid serious interest from Manchester United.

Napoli's Victor Oshimen is also going to command a hefty fee to leave Naples if Erik Ten Hag decides to choose him as his final option as a solution to Manchester United's striker dilemma.

Gift Orban netted 20 goals in 22 games for Gent, while ManUtdgistlover reported that Manchester United sent out scouts to watch him last month. However, the sudden appearance of multiple suitors who are seeking the Nigerian's signature isn't a surprise, as his goalscoring exploits can't be overlooked.

UnitedInFocus, via TMW, reported that four Ligue 1 outfits have emerged as interested parties in the Genk striker. Lens, AS Monaco, Lille, and Marseille are the teams.

Whether Man United land the Nigerian sensation this season or the youngster moves to a different club, as long as he continues with his goalscoring form, he will command hefty transfer fees in the future.

Reports from the first time he was linked to Manchester United stated he was valued at around £2–4 million, but it could move up to around £50 million in the future provided he keeps his goalscoring touch.

Erik Ten Hag has allegedly made it open that he would love to bring in two striker signings ahead of next season, with reports claiming that the Red Devils are close to concluding a deal for Rasmus Hojlund. It will make sense for the Dutch tactician to bring in Gift Orban as a backup option, which will cost very little.
