Everton's Sean Dyche, tipped to sign Harry Maguire as best in Europe stats emerges

Everton manager Sean Dyche has been told he can build the Toffees defense around Manchester United's captain Harry Maguire next season.

To avoid another Premier League relegation struggle the next season, Everton will need to make some excellent new players, and a fresh report on a potential transfer target has just surfaced.

Everton is one of the clubs interested in signing Harry Maguire, a defender for Manchester United, according to Football Transfers.

According to the source, Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa are also interested in signing Maguire and will need to spend £35 million to do so this summer.

According to rumors, Maguire is weighing his options with Premier League and European teams right now since he is reportedly desperate for first-team action before the summer of 2024's Euro competition.

The Blues are without a doubt in desperate need of some talent in their team after losing their second straight battle for survival at the bottom of the standings this season.

Just two points separated the Toffees from dropping into the Championship for the first time in Premier League history as they ended 17th, and now Sean Dyche will enter his first summer transfer window at Goodison Park with a lot of critical issues to address.

Everton's top aim this summer will undoubtedly be to add talented forwards, but finding a deserving partner to team up with James Tarkowski at center back would be extremely helpful in their quest to compete more comfortably in the future.

Maguire's arrival from Man United might therefore be just what Dyche needs to bring in a player with a ton of Premier League experience and the physique to blend in nicely with the footballing philosophies of the former Burnley manager.

The England star, although being mostly out of favor at Old Trafford this season, still rates in the top 20% of his positional contemporaries across the top five European leagues for aerial duels won, blocks, touches, and progressive carries, showcasing his skills as a bullish but contemporary center-half.

In 16 top-flight appearances this season, Maguire has completed 87% of his passes and 67% of his dribbles successfully. He has also averaged 2.6 clearances, 42.4 touches, and 2.4 duels won while only playing an average of 49 minutes per game.

Erik ten Hag may be having trouble getting the 30-year-old to start matches, but following his performance in the Europa League a few months ago, the Dutch coach has nevertheless been very complimentary of the player.

"He's more dominant and dictating, he's taking more initiative on the training pitch and I think also in the Real Betis game, he showed leadership, especially in those aspects of initiative and dictating of the game."

The centre-back may provide some fantastic assets and match the caliber of Tarkowski on the back line, so it would make sense for Everton to work out a deal to sign Maguire this summer.
