In the summer transfer window, Chelsea and Manchester United are prepared to compete for the services of Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana.
This is according to the Evening Standard, a UK news source. Chelsea reportedly plans to make a little launch for Onana this summer. For the upcoming season, the Blues are searching for a new starting goalkeeper.
According to The Evening Standard, the Premier League's top clubs are interested in Giorgi Mamardashvili of Valencia, Gregor Kobel of Dortmund, and David Raya of Brentford. Onana, the Inter goalkeeper, is the one who Chelsea is primarily after.
The Evening Standard notes that Inter and Chelsea have an excellent working relationship.
The two clubs are prepared to begin discussions over Romelu Lukaku's probable second loan to the Nerazzurri. They will be negotiating with the Belgian for the third time.
Lukaku was signed by Chelsea for a significant quantity of money in 2021, and Inter arranged a loan agreement to bring him back last summer. As a result, the channels between the club are open, according to the Evening Standard.
Chelsea could therefore take advantage of this as a chance to advance in their search for Onana. Their opening offers have already been submitted. According to The Evening Standard, the Blues are getting ready to make another, more serious offer.
Onana is wanted by a number of major Premier League teams, not just the Blues.
According to The Evening Standard, Man United are also mulling a deal for the 27-year-old international from Cameroon. Onana is not now drawing United's interest in the same way that Chelsea is. The Evening Standard points out that United has a significant advantage over Chelsea in the contest.
The Champions League can be Onana's next season thanks to Manchester United, not Chelsea.
Yet still, Manchester United like the blues are looking to bring in an upgrade for their number one goalkeeper David De Gea. The 32 year old is clearly not a going to be Erik Ten Hag's favorite next campaign after showing he is lacking in some aspects that is much needed for the modern football style the Dutch tactician is trying to instill in the team.
Several Candidates are being monitored for his replacement, Brentford's David Raya, Anderlecht's youngster Bart Verbruggen, Everton's Jordan Pickford and FC Porto's Diogo Costa, with Inter Milan's Onana as well in the picture.
While David Raya seems to be destined for another club, ( rumors suggests it could be Tottenham Hotspur), Manchester United could seal Diogo Costa's transfer for a lesser transfer fee.
This is down to FC Porto's sudden need of financial reinforcement which will force them to sanction the sale of players before the end of June.
