Dean Jones thinks Tyler Adams won't be playing for Leeds United in the Championship next year because he can "improve" most of the Premier League.
The Elland Road leadership "desperately" wants to hold onto the Whites midfielder following relegation [The Athletic], but given that the 24-year-old has been suggested to clubs like Manchester United, Jones thinks it is unrealistic.
The American became a fixture in the center of midfield after joining from RB Leipzig last summer, but is now a target for several Premier League teams, including Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest [The Athletic], as well as Liverpool, Newcastle, and Tottenham, as well as the Old Trafford club.
The former Eurosport journalist told GIVEMESPORT: “I find it very hard to believe that Tyler Adams will be playing in the Championship next season. He’s got the traits that could help half the Premier League improve next season.
“He’s even been recommended at Manchester United as we’ve heard about before.”
It will be difficult to keep the Whites' star midfielder at Elland Road with so many top-tier clubs showing interest in him.
Unless the administration is willing to play hardball and possibly risk upsetting Adams, it will probably need Adams himself to reject interest from other clubs after forging a strong enough bond with the team during his initial season.
Given the lack of alternative midfield options and the fact that Marc Roca is already in negotiations to return to La Liga and Weston McKennie is back at Juventus, it seems logical that Leeds United would want to cling onto him for the promotion push.
Tyler Adams seems to be leaving this summer, but if the team does lose all of its senior options at the position, finding replacements will become a top priority for the new manager.
Manchester United recieves major striker boost
Manchester United's efforts to sign Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic have received a significant boost.
Vlahovic is allegedly one of the top players on the Red Devils' wishlist for the summer transfer season as they search for a new center-forward.
Juventus was rumored to be holding out for €90 million to sell him, but according to Gazzetta dello Sport (page 14), the price has been reduced to €70 million.
The publication reports that the club is prioritizing the sale of the Serbian star as the Bianconeri hope to recover at least €100 million through player sales this summer.
One of the teams interested in signing him is United. In addition to keeping an eye on the striker's position are Bayern Munich, Chelsea, Newcastle United, and Paris Saint-Germain.
A new striker is United's top priority throughout the off-season. It seems unlikely that a deal for Harry Kane will be reached, therefore they may need to think about other choices in the upcoming weeks.
Atalanta's Rasmus Hojlund has been touted as a target, but the Dane is still a novice. The youngster might be viewed as a long-term acquisition.
Dusan Vlahovic would be a wise addition. During his time at Fiorentina, he was outstanding. In a single calendar year, the Serbian scored 33 goals in Serie A.
His high-profile transfer to Juventus in January 2022 was made possible by this. Since then, Vlahovic has had trouble maintaining consistency, tallying only 23 goals and 6 assists in 63 games.
His record is respectable, contributing to goals once every two games, but a striker who was compared to Erling Braut Haaland should be able to do much more.
Vlahovic has not adapted well to the Bianconeri's playing style, but a change of teams might be able to remedy that. It remains to be seen if United will submit a formal proposal for him.
The Serbian's finishing and positioning abilities are superb. Vlahovic may be the answer to United's penchant for blowing good chances in the box.
