Journalist issues major transfer update on Man United's duo and Rasmus Hojlund

According to Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United has no plans this summer to transfer Jadon Sancho to Tottenham Hotspur.

Even before the transfer window opened last week, rumors of interest from the Premier League team started to spread, along with the claim that their "focus is on a creative midfielder."

Only two years after leaving the team for Manchester, there was also discussion of the English player returning to Borussia Dortmund on loan.

Sancho enjoyed great success during his four-year stay in Germany, making 107 appearances, scoring 50 goals, and supplying an astounding 57 assists.

With their preseason due to start on July 12 against Leeds in Norway, Fabrizio Romano says that the Red Devils want to keep their £73 million winger.

Romano says that despite connections to Tottenham, "I'm not aware of anything advanced with any other clubs or any plans from United to part ways with the player."

Sancho's most recent campaign was a mixed bag for him; despite making 41 appearances across all leagues, he missed more than two months of United's matchday squads.

The midfielder's play was clearly damaged by personal troubles and a brief sickness as only three assists were provided. Even more, the player was dispatched to a winter training camp in the Netherlands on his own.

Former United manager Ten Hag supported Sancho and said the English winger has made "good progress" this year.

“Erik ten Hag has been protecting him in the best way this year.” Romano continued. “And he’s still convinced that Jadon has great potential.”

Sancho will be held to a higher standard by United supporters if he stays at Old Trafford and helps his team contend with cross-town rivals Man City for the championship this year.

“Sancho showed what a great talent he was at Borussia Dortmund.” Romano says. “So I hope fans are patient and we can see him get back to his best soon.”

Romano has made it obvious that everything now appears to be in place for Rashford to commit his future to Man Utd very soon in a tweet from his official account this afternoon.

The English international is expected to accept the Red Devils' offer on a new, long-term contract, according to the expert covering transfer news (see below), which will be welcome news to the club's supporters given his stellar play for the majority of last season—one of his best seasons for the club thus far.

On his best days, Rashford is a world-class player who might have drawn interest from other elite teams in Europe if he hadn't decided to dedicate his future to United.

Now that everything appears to be resolved, Erik ten Hag can concentrate on bolstering other aspects of his team in preparation for the upcoming season. A number of these areas need to be addressed in order to assist offer a player like Marcus Rashford a better stage on which to shine.

This summer, Rasmus Hjlund of Atalanta is being considered by Manchester United to reinforce their attacking options.

One of Europe's most exciting young players, the Danish striker has become one of Erik ten Hag's major targets.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the Serie A club is asking for a transfer fee of €70 million, which United believes is unreasonable.

To close the deal, the Red Devils are willing to spend up to €60 million.

Hjlund's desperation for the move to Old Trafford is also mentioned by Romano, and his insistence may play a crucial role in the negotiations.

The 20-year-old possesses every quality necessary for success in the Premier League.

His rapid ball movement also helps to set up opportunities for others, especially on the counterattack.

In the modern game, young forwards must possess this quality.

He is a very versatile tactical asset due to his physical qualities as well.

United are lacking a recognized striker in their lineup since Anthony Martial's future is uncertain.

It will be interesting to see if Ten Hag decides to take a chance on the young Danish forward or chooses a more seasoned player to lead the line.
