Manchester United to bank £45 million after Champions League return

Following their qualification for the Champions League, Manchester United is gearing up to make a fortune once more in the upcoming season.

The Reds finished third in the Premier League under Erik ten Hag's leadership, earning a spot in the group rounds of the premier European competition. And additional wealth follows from that.

Before the Reds take the field in 2023–24, they will receive about £13.48 million just for qualifying. Then, United will receive £2.4m for each match won in the group stage, a considerable increase from the £551,460 per win in the Europa League group stages this season.

United earned just under £10 million this season thanks to their run to the second-tier competition's semifinals. An £8.2 million profit would result by reaching the round of 16 in the Champions League. £9.1 million is awarded for making it to the quarterfinals, £10.7 million for making it to the semifinals, £13.3 million for each finalist, and £3.8 million more for the victor.

These sums do not account for additional benefits United will earn from television advertising and matchday ticket sales. Compared to participating in the Europa League, it will be a welcome increase in their income.

Ten Hag will be hoping to secure a portion of these extra monies to increase his transfer budget. United spent a lot of money signing players like Casemiro and Antony last summer. This time around, the United manager is reportedly eager to acquire a center-forward and goalkeeper.
